M.ARCH WORK 2014
ARH 657 Design Media and Perspective: Drawing as Construct
Throughout the course we examined the act of drawing as a method to explore spatial contingency. We utilized multiple techniques to analyze architectural space defined by its structure, volume, materiality, and dynamic conditions. The cumulative drawing constructed and represented space (inside and out, micro and macro conditions) and its constituents by interconnecting multiple inner configurations of the spatial condition of 601 Brannan, San Francisco, AAU School of Architecture.
Experimentation with Lead and Ink on Paper
We invented our own path of documenting the entire building and individually selected points of interests to elaborate on. Then we constructed a unique series of juxtapositions that expose the interior infrastructure at multiple scales as it unfolds. These drawings are constructed on 24″ x 19″ panels totaling 4 panels. The panels are interconnected into a large drawing that offers a global understanding of the building as well as focused detail areas.
