ABSTRACT
The Castro Muni Station lies in the heart of the Castro neighborhood providing public transportation access to residents and visitors alike. The Station is an underground MUNI Metro station at the intersection of Market, Castro, and 17th Streets in the Castro neighborhood. The goals of this project are to provide uninterrupted elevator service at the Castro MUNI Station, and to create ADA compliant paths of travel between the new passenger elevator and the busy southwest corner of Market and Castro Street. A detailed site study was conducted to propose a 3-stop passenger elevator to serve the Street, Concourse Mezzanine, and Platform levels.
