ABSTRACT
The program of the building was an experimental fashion laboratory for extreme textile and fashion situated in the urban context of Oakland. The projects capitalized on beautiful deformations and the cultural practice of extreme adornment to the point of creating multiple identity or indefinable identity that celebrates the concept of grotesque and authenticity. The operative methodology was a process of growing, cultivating, and mutating opportunistically. We were interested in the spatial and structural implications of the growth of abnormalities. This included operative procedures that rather than being narrative based breed meaning through the process of generating modified and amplified formal and spatial tectonics.

The first part of this course we established the theoretical discourse and methodological process for growing integrated and interdependent prosthetic-tectonic systems. The second part was a complete building system that we incorporated the generative procedure developed in the first part.
